The Gambian Tax Authority (GRA), through the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, signed on Tuesday, October 7 a $7.27 million contract with the Arabsoft—TMI consortium for deploy the Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS).

The modernization of the tax administration is at heart of the priorities of the Gambian government. With the deployment of a system integrated, the country intends to strengthen transparency, optimize the collection of revenue and improve the efficiency of taxpayer services. ITAS is a project financed by the Bank global . Lasting 24 months, this project includes a two-year warranty and a capacity building program for local teams. According to the Minister of Finance, Seedy Keita, during the signing ceremony in Banjul, “it's not just a contract; it is a declaration of intent, a bold commitment to modernize the public financial management and to adopt digital transformation”.

The new ITAS system will replace the old one GAMTAXNET and will offer a unified platform for registration, the declaration, payment, audit and collection of taxes. It will introduce services such as online registration, electronic filing, and digital payments, thus reducing compliance costs for taxpayers and improving the efficiency of the administration.
