Moroccan operator Marsa Maroc recently concluded a strategic partnership with the National Port Authority of Liberia, organization in charge of the management, administration and development of all the ports of Liberia.

Marsa Maroc extends its presence on the continent African, by setting up the subsidiary Marsa Maroc International Logistics (MMIL) who will be in charge of the rehabilitation works, the implementation of layout of port equipment and to provide expertise in bulk handling material. The MMIL subsidiary will carry out works of rehabilitation, will provide port equipment and provide its expertise in bulk handling. The gradual commissioning of The project is scheduled to start in the first half of 2026.

In the long term, this partnership aims at the conclusion between two parts of a concession contract for development and operation of a new multi-purpose terminal at the Port of Monrovia, which occupies a position central to the port landscape of Liberia.

This project will thus contribute to sustainable improvements the operational performance of the Port of Monrovia, to strengthen the port and logistics competitiveness in Liberia, and in turn to support the economic development of the country.

Marsa Maroc has been selected to support this structural transformation of the Port of Monrovia, and the upgrading of the country's port infrastructures. The stated objective is to increase capabilities, improve business continuity and reposition sustainably Liberia on regional maritime corridors. Via this operation, the national port operator extends its field of intervention to at the African level, drawing on recognized expertise in the management of port terminals.
