The Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) last Wednesday initiated a dialogue with financial service providers and other stakeholders on funding the ROOTS project for producers and small and medium-sized businesses.

The objective was to discuss the opportunities available to ensure that small and medium-sized businesses have access to the matching grant to the Organizational Resilience Project for transformative agriculture for smallholder farmers, ROOTS. The project designed to improve food security, nutrition and the resilience of smallholder farmers in the face of climate change in The Gambia. Sarata Conateh, CEO of GCCI praised the large number of participants from various financial service providers and challenged them to make the forum very interactive and educational. Lamin S. Darboe, the ROOTS project's main climate-smart agriculture office, took the opportunity to remind that the project will also go further to ensure that there is a market for everything that our small farmers produce.
