The Gabon Fund for Strategic Investments (FGIS) becomes the first African sovereign wealth fund to join the Net-Zero Asset Owner Alliance. Through this collaboration, FGIS has made a decisive commitment to decarbonization at all levels of the economy, in line with the Plan for Accelerating Transformation (PAT) set by President Ali BONGO ONDIMBA.

Continuing its commitment to sustainability, FGIS aims to achieve zero net greenhouse gas emissions in its portfolio by 2050 , to set intermediate goals every five years and to present an annual monitoring report. Created in September 2019 at the United Nations Climate Action Summit, the Net Zero Asset Owner Alliance is an international group of investors who are committed to transitioning their investment portfolios to carbon neutrality by 2050. By joining the Alliance, FGIS will benefit from the Alliance's advice and tools to set and achieve its commitments and thus support Gabon's transition to a zero-carbon goal.
