The international symposium on ECO, initiated by the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University of Lomé, and its former dean Kako Nubukpo, (recently appointed to waeMU) has been announced to be held from 26 to 28 May in Lomé.

The Togolese capital will host an international conference on the future West African currency, the Eco. The event has a dual objective: "To reflect on the monetary transition and the urgency of Africa's development, then define a roadmap to be submitted to ECOWAS leaders". For the speakers, it will be a question of flooring in particular on "the political economy of the Eco, the convergence and optimality of the Eco Zone", or "the development prospects of ECOWAS".

The international symposium on ECO will bring together renowned personalities, such as the president of Boad, Serge Ekue, economists Lionel Zinsou, Carlos Lopes, Achille Mbembe or Nadim Kalife.
