A fraudulent public official was arrested with 34 bank cards at the Equitybank counter at 7th Street in the commune of Limete, Kinshasa.

According to the Ministry of the Civil Service, Modernization of Administration and Public Service Innovation, this fraudster was trying to collect salaries for the month of August 2022 with all these cards. He was presented to the responsible Deputy Prime Minister, Jean-Pierre Lihau, who was not convinced by the arguments of this agent, who claimed to withdraw these salaries by mutual agreement with his colleagues on duty who held cards who were having difficulty repaying his debts.

The Deputy Prime Minister considered this act to be extremely serious, requiring a thorough investigation by the competent authorities, before giving instructions so that the investigations be carried out by the police with a view to dismantling this network, which is the basis for embezzling the salaries of State officials.
