On the parallel market, the exchange rate of the Congolese franc (FC) against the US dollar (USD) remained relatively stable during the week of 24 to 30 May. It is changed to 2,000 (two thousand) FC for the lowest bidder, and to 2,002 (two thousand two) FC for the highest bidder.

The Congolese FC showed a slight depreciation on the 17th to the 23rd of May. From May 24 to 30, the FC also remained stable, changing to 1997.11 (one thousand nine hundred and ninety-seven, eleven hundred) FC the US dollar during the week under review.
This stability stems from the Stability Pact signed between the government and the BCC, and also from the policy adopted by the government in spending, not to mention the improvement in revenues on the part of the financial authorities, namely the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI), the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DGDA) and the Directorate General of State, Administrative and Participation Revenue (DGRAD). The Ministry of Finance notes, moreover, that the public treasury has a surplus balance of 492.1 billion FC, while in the corresponding period of 2020, the State was in deficit.
