The 3rd Vice-President of the ECOWAS National Assembly to proceed, on the morning of Wednesday, December 21, 2022, with the official installation of the Scientific Committee in charge of organizing the 3rd edition of the Inter-Parliamentary Forum on Technology of information and communication for development in the ECOWAS region (FITIC 2023).

Le forum prévu pour 2023 sera the opportunity for ICT actors and specialists to exchange and share successful experiences in the digital field particularly on the issues of broadband infrastructure development, the adoption and implementation of legislative and regulatory frameworks, Internet governance and digital sovereignty.

During the previous editions of FITIC0 organized in 2017 and 2020 right here in Niamey, recalls the 3rd Vice-President of the National Assembly, the participants decided to fight together against the phenomenon of cybercrime which is gaining momentum in our community area through the establishment of a harmonized legislative and regulatory framework.

A l' en croire, “l' adoption of the law ratifying on December 8, 2022 by our Institution, thus authorizing the accession of the Republic of Niger to the Convention on Cybercrime, signed on November 23, 2001 in Budapest by the member states of Council of Europe , is part of our country's commitment to co-operate with other nations in the world to eradicate this phenomenon & egrave; born from the misuse of digital technologies.”
