While participating in a virtual panel on: "the private sector, engine of recovery" during the Africa Forum 2021 of the CIAN, last week, Sandra Ablamba Johnson, Minister, Secretary General of the Togolese Presidency and in charge of Business Climate, listed the main measures adopted to support economic operators in the midst of a health crisis.

Covid-19 health crisis and its management, recovery of the post-pandemic economy, digitalization were the main topics on which Sandra Ablamba Johnson agreed during the Africa Forum 2021 of the CIAN.
According to her, several economic, financial and tax measures had been adopted by the authorities to support economic operators.

“We were able to manage it effectively by setting up a crisis committee chaired by the Head of State himself from the very beginning, who worked with the players in the health sector”, she indicated.
The measures ranged from tax breaks to exemptions, through easy payment of social security contributions granted to employers. A solidarity fund of 400 billion FCFA had also been set up to contain the effects of Covid-19 on businesses and to take charge of free water and electricity, mentioned the minister.
