The African FinTech supported by Jeff Bezos is becoming a unicorn. Just six months after its last $30 million fundraiser, Chipper Cash completed a new Series C funding round of $100 million.

Chipper Cash reaches a valuation of more than a billion dollars, according to information from the media TechCrunch. This new financing was led by SVB Capital, with the participation of Deciens Capital, Ribbit Capital, One Way Ventures, 500 Startups, Tribe Capital, Brue2 Ventures and Bezos Expeditions, the fund of the founder of Amazon.
Taking advantage of the excitement around cryptocurrencies in recent months, Chipper Cash has launched a feature to convert its local currency into bitcoins, buy and sell at any time. Founded in 2018 by Ham Serunjogi and Maijid Moujaled, former Facebook, Flickr and Yahoo, Chipper Cash is currently present in seven African countries (Ghana, Uganda, Nigeria, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Africa and Kenya) and recently in the United Kingdom.
