The World Bank and the Burkinabe government are jointly holding an international symposium on the internalization of the WAEMU directives on public finances, on June 3 and 4, 2021 in Ouagadougou.The international symposium on the internalization of the WAEMU directives on public finances in Burkina Faso is an opportunity to take stock of the situation and throw perspectives. According to the representative of the World Bank at this ceremony, Ousmane Kolie, this symposium should make it possible to make a critical analysis of the impacts of the budgetary reform on public management following the internalization of the WAEMU public finance directives. Through the Economic Governance and Citizen Participation Program (PGEPC), this institution has been supporting the Burkinabe government since 2017.

The Minister of the Civil Service, Labour and Social Protection, Pr Séni Ouédraogo, indicates that this meeting must be an opportunity to discuss finances in its different articulations. The inaugural conference is moderated by the teacher-researcher, Pr Salif Yonaba, associate lecturer in public law on the theme: "The logic of performance in waeMU member states: from yesterday to today, and tomorrow? For two days, the participants have three panels including fifteen themes followed by exchange-discussion that will be sanctioned by an amendment to the synthesis report.
