The State of Senegal, through the Ministry of Microfinance and the Social and Solidarity Economy, supports the actors, who are mainly women and young people working in the informal sector.

250 million Fcfa is the amount released by the Ministry of Microfinance as part of the financing program for market traders. The said program takes into account 34 markets in two departments. For the department of Pikine, 150 million CFA francs have been allocated to 20 markets while in Guédiawaye, 14 markets benefit from the remaining 100 million CFA francs.

Minister Zahra Iyane Thiam, during the distribution of the funds, urged the beneficiaries to make good use of them. This action comes in a context marked by the Covid-19 pandemic and the consequences of the Russo-Ukrainian war which continue to impact the daily life of the population at the grassroots.
