project of the 5th republic for the financial year 2026.
The 2026 finance bill is set at
7233.3 billion FCFA. It was presented to the National Assembly by the
Minister of the Economy Henri-Claude Oyima. The PLF 2026 aims to bring
double-digit growth by reducing dependence on hydrocarbons, thanks
to an increase in public investments and to a more rigorous management of
expenses. If the government expects growth of 7%, the projections
of the Monetary Fund
international (IMF) and the African Development Bank (BAD)
remain cautious, estimated at 2.6% and 2.2% respectively, due to
persistent structural constraints.
The 2026 budget devotes also a reinforced envelope for the social component, with 61 billion FCFA intended for vulnerable populations, compared to 11 billion in 2025.
