On Thursday, December 4, 2025, the African Bank of Development (BAD) held an important working session with a delegation young Gabonese leaders committed to employment issues and agricultural entrepreneurship.

The African Development Bank (BAD) is joining in the momentum driven by the President of the Republic, Head of State, Head of Government, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema aiming to ban the import of broiler chickens by 2027. This strategic meeting, organized in accordance with the will of the President of the Republic, Head of the State, Head of Government to build sustainable food sovereignty, has brought together the mission of experts from the ADB, organizations of youth and several technical actors in the agricultural sector.

At the heart of this working session, Emmanuel Obakamba Ombana, Youth Leader, Certified Expert by the organization International Labour Organization (ILO) and recognized on promotion issues d'Emplois des Jeunes, accompanied by a large youth delegation, presented on behalf of the group to the ADB a Draft Project of National Strategy for Youth Employability and Entrepreneurship in Poultry sector, a proposal welcomed for its depth, its vision and its anchoring in national realities.

The presented project has a clear architecture and ambitious. It is an analytical context based on food sovereignty and the reduction of imports; an objective general focused on the massive creation of jobs for young people; specific objectives targeting training, entrepreneurship, the equipment of young people, access to finance and the structuring of value chains; measurable expected results, including business creation, deployment jobs, and support for domestic production.

This project consists of five major components such as; training and capacity building (agriculture 4.0, farm management, biosecurity, animal nutrition); financing and access to credit; poultry production and processing; marketing, marketing and logistics; communication, awareness and involvement citizen of young people.

According to the first estimates presented by Mr Emmanuel OBAKAMBA OMBANA, this strategy could generate 1500 direct jobs, 3,000 indirect jobs, and several hundreds of micro-farms specializing in the production of broiler chickens, incubation, processing or sale of poultry products
