The Gabonese subsidiary of the pan-African bank UBA has a new chief executive, internal sources of the group report  on Monday, November 30. It is Eugenia Onyekwelu who replaces Chioma Mang, called to lead UBA Uganda.

This appointment comes at a time when UBA is engaged in a phase of expansion in Africa. It is in this sense that it has carried out many upheavals (permutations and appointments within its various subsidiaries) these days to accelerate the process.

Eugenia Onyekwelu joined UBA Gabon in 2012 and was appointed Director of Operations the same year. The manager has more than 20 years of professional experience in the field of project management, including banking.

In recent years, she has been actively involved in the bank's many strategic projects. Holder of a Master in Business Administration, a Bachelor in Finance, the new boss of UBA, is presented as versatile in banking practices.

As a reminder, despite a difficult context marked by Covid-19, UBA recorded a  net banking income of N150 billion ($391.6 million) in the first half of 2020, up 5.6% compared to 2019.
