The French group Aera announced last week the renewal of its contract with the public company C Ivory Coast Energies.

AERA will sign an extension of contract with CI-Energies to monetize carbon credits from the hydro& plant Electric power from Soubré (275 MW). The contract also provides for Aera to manage carbon certification procedures. If this partnership has been made possible, it is thanks to the credit system that was developed by the Kyoto Protocol, whose objective is to guide businesses in the fight against global warming. Each company is awarded carbon credits that are unique to it. The renewed contract also provides for Aera to manage carbon certification procedures. As a reminder, the first contract was signed by the two companies in 2020 and offered the trader Aera the rights to ensure the monetization of carbon credits.
