Mahlako Energy Fund is providing financial support of $653 million to the mining company Harmony to build 167 MW of solar photovoltaic plants in South Africa. In the first phase, three 10 MW plants will be built and the second phase will consider the installation of the remaining 137 MW. This will enable the company to supply its various mines with cleaner energy and extend their life. In addition, this project is part of Harmony's strategy to achieve a zero carbon footprint by 2045.
