The Union West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) announced that the awards & agrave; consumption in Senegal rebounded by 0 4.4% last February. This increase is driven by increases in prices for soft drinks and food products.

According to the harmonized consumer price index of the Department of Economic Policy and Taxation, the food products and soft drinks that were behind the increase in consumer prices in February were within the WAEMU, increased by 0.5%. Indeed, the prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels were no exception to the uptrend with an increase of 0.1%. Furniture, household items and household items followed the same trend, increasing by 0.5%, as did clothing and footwear, which increased by 0.2%.

In fact, at an annual rate between February last year and this year, the price level of fresh produce increased by 13.2%, that of energy products by 18.2%, and that of excluding fresh produce and energy by 6.1%. The rise in prices was felt at the primary (12.2%), secondary (7.4%) and tertiary (5.2%) levels. Leisure and cultural products increased by 16.0%, clothing and footwear by 5.2%, and prices for restaurant and hotel services by 9.5%.
