The ruble was 1.7% weaker against the dollar at 79.26 at 11:27 GMT, earlier touching 79.50, its weakest point since May 3. It lost 2.3% against the yuan to 11.38, and 1.7% to trade at 86.30 against the euro. According to officials with direct knowledge of the discussions, Group of Seven (G7) leaders plan to strengthen sanctions against Russia at their Japan summit this
week.
