In its latest weekly indicators bulletin, Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) announces that the dirham appreciates by 0.41% against the euro but against the US dollar, it has depreciated by 1.17%.

During the period from 04 to 10 March, the dirham appreciated by 0.41% against the euro and depreciated by 1.17% against the US dollar.

BAM states that during this period no auction operations were carried out on the foreign exchange market. It states : " As of March 5, the stock of official reserve assets stood at 307.9 billion dirhams (MMDH), down 0.2% from one week to the next and 23.5% year-on-year ."

The overall outstanding amount of BAM's interventions amounted to 73.4 billion dirhams, including 28.2 billion dirhams in the form of 7-day advances on call for tenders, 15.9 billion dirhams in the form of repo operations delivered, 27.7 billion dirhams in the framework of the support programs for the financing of the very small, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and 1.6 billion dirhams for foreign exchange swap operations. The average daily trading volume on the interbank market was 3.4 billion dirhams and the interbank rate averaged 1.5% during this period.
