The lockdowns weigh on the euro in sharp decline against the dollar. Around 10:20 GMT (11:20 in Paris), the euro fell 0.36% to 1.1889 dollars for a euro.
Stephen Innes, an analyst at Axi, believes that the euro " remains close to its lowest point of the year due to the slow roll-out of the vaccination program."
Thu Lan Nguyen, an analyst at Commerzbank, said: " The main idea remains that the recovery will come, which should put an end to the ultra-accommodative policy of the European Central Bank (ECB) sooner or later ."
