Pour le deuxième semestre 2023, le Nigeria plans to collect 7.5 trillion naira ($9.5 billion) in taxes, following a record performance in the first six months of the year. This was informed by the executive president of the Federal Inland Revenue Service

(FIRS), Muhammad Nami.

Muhammad Nami announced that “the government raised 5.5 trillion naira [$7 billion, Ed.] in the first half of the current year, exceeding its target of 5.3 trillion naira.” According to the Executive Chairman of the Federal Tax Service, the results of the second half of the year will be better, given the continuous improvement of our tax administration processes and the positive impact of the current government's policies on the economy.

He also indicated that the platform created during the first half of 2023 is explained by the improvement of the voluntary tax compliance of taxpayers and the continuous strengthening of the automation of tax administration processes.
