In a case of embezzlement of public funds, more than 4 billion FCFA evaporated within the town hall of the urban commune of San. The Collective for San (CPS) hosted a press conference on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, in the performance hall of the youth center of the brand new administrative region of Mali to demand justice.

The Collective for San went out to demonstrate through a press conference to express its dissatisfaction with the financial scandal that took place within the town hall of the said locality. Four people from San were involved in the embezzlement of public funds of more than 4 billion FCFA by issuing false receipts from the public treasury. To this end, the former and current mayors of the urban commune of San, the manager as well as the former president of GIE Dallan were interviewed by the prosecutor of the economic and financial center of Bamako.
According to the leaders of the Collective for San, for ten years, the town hall of the urban municipality of San issued false receipts from the public treasury. Thus, they indicate, Camp I of Bamako opened an investigation on the basis of a complaint on condition of anonymity. “After the final report of Camp I in Bamako, the four people involved were interviewed by the prosecutor of the economic and financial center,” said spokesperson Alpha Oumar Mahamane Touré. Thus the Collective for San demands the immediate involvement of regional and national authorities so that justice is done.
