The verdict of the alleged embezzlement case of fund for an amount of 134 million FCFA, as part of the Project of Urban Transport of Abidjan (PTUA) fell on Friday, January 31, 2026, at the Pole Economic and Financial Criminal Law (PPEF) of Abidjan-Cocody.

Ex-PTUA executive was convicted of embezzlement of public funds, illicit enrichment and laundering of capital.

The court issued a series of measures restrictive and deprivation of rights against the convicted person:

* Deprivation of rights: Withdrawal of passport (3 years) and deprivation of civil and political rights (5 years).

* Professional ban: Prohibition to work as an Administrative and Financial Director (CFO) or to occupy any public service for 3 years.

* Seizures and Forfeitures: His Bank Accounts (in particular at Orabank) as well as two four-room villas, located in Abatta and the Don Mello City were confiscated for the benefit of the State.

Justice ordered compensation significant for injured parties:

* AGEROUTE: The defendant must reimburse all the 138 million FCFA embezzled, to which are added 50 million FCFA in damages. This decision is accompanied by the execution provisional.

* State of Côte d'Ivoire: As a civil party, the State will receive 10 million CFA francs in damages.
