Indeed, the ex-Prime Minister is accused of having embezzled more than 4.5 million euros planned for economic and social programs. The information was made public on Thursday by the Minister of Justice, quoted by international media on Friday.
According to the same sources, Ibrahima Kassory Fofana is the subject of another investigation into the possible embezzlement of more than 40 million dollars earmarked to manage the Covid-19 epidemic.Thus, Alphonse Charles Wright, the Minister of Justice, stated in a letter to the Attorney General as follows "I enjoin you to initiate legal proceedings against Mr. Ibrahima Kassory Fofana for alleged misappropriation, money laundering, corruption and complicity.
Ibrahima Kassory Fofana was from May 2018 to September 2021, the Prime Minister of former President Alpha Conde. It should be recalled that this date was the date on which the government was overthrown by a military coup d'état which entitled the military to take power on September 5, 2021 by abuse of force. They thus made a fight against the corruption reputedly endemic in Guinea, it was one of their great proclaimed fights.
