A network of alleged information and communication technology (ICT) fraudsters has been stopped by the Central Cybercrime Brigade.

WhatsApp, Viber, Instagram, TikTok and Signal are the means used by the scam duo to lure their victims. According to the Central Brigade for Combating Cybercrime (BCLCC), these usurps are created from existing profiles belonging to people of American or European origin.

Indeed, when contact is established with the victim, these criminals fake true love and then obtain financial benefits from the victim. Often, they claim transport or accommodation costs that may allow them to reach their sweetheart. This encouraged them to withdraw as much money as possible from their victims.

This group was questioned and auditioned by the BCLCC and the members acknowledged the charges against them.
