Financial specialist Afrik has just released the top 5 best African finance ministers for the year 2020. Tested by the Covid-19 crisis, they have taken up the challenge of mobilizing resources for the financing of emergency social and health programs.

Then comes Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Maait, Minister of Finance of Egypt who has set aside his academic capital as an actuary, mathematician and professor at various universities in Egypt, Sudan and Scotland to put into practice unorthodox measures to deal with the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In 4th position, Tito Mboweni, Minister of Finance of South Africa faces macroeconomic balances that are difficult to consolidate. The wage bill has increased by 58% since 2008. Finally, Renganaden Padayachy, Minister of Finance of Mauritius who is facing a difficult context marked by the impact of the pandemic on the tourism, finance and services sectors, the main providers of foreign exchange and jobs in Mauritius.
The selection criteria are : leadership, growth 2020-2021, private sector financing, debt control and deficit control.
