On Friday 10 March, former Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin was indicted in the Kuala Lumpur courts. He was arrested the day before by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and accused of corruption and money laundering.

Muhyiddin Yassin was at the head of the government of Mali for at least 17 months between 2020 and 2021, during the health crisis. He became the second former prime minister to be accused of corruption in the country. Muhyiddin Yassin is suspected of using his position as prime minister to obtain bribes. The results of the investigations mention that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, entrepreneurs selected for the stimulus program have deposited funds into the accounts of the former prime minister's party, Bersatu, in exchange for projects.
