De retour le vendredi 17 mars 2023 de Goma, au Nord-Kivu, le directeur général de The Special Economic Zones Agency (AZES) announced that an envelope of one billion nine hundred million (1.900,000,000) ) USD is required for the creation of special economic zones in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

As part of the project to create special economic zones in the DRC, Auguy Bolanda Menga, the AZES mission manager believes that he is optimistic because the framework has already been established and the Congolese State is in the process of providing resources to succeed in special economic zones (SEZ). And “we are working hard to mobilize the necessary resources. According to the Industrial Development Plan (IDP), one billion nine hundred million USD are needed to implement SEZs. It takes time, you have to plan. But the project will be carried out, we will mobilize the money little by little,” he reassured.

Note that the DRC is divided into 6 industrial zones covered by the Industrial Development Plan (PDI).
