According to an information note issued on Tuesday, August 09, 2022, Oliver Alawuba has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the pan-African bank United Bank for Africa (UBA). He will be responsible for managing all operations of the bank.

After taking up his position on August 1, 2022, Oliver Alawuba expresses his gratitude in these words: "I am grateful for the opportunity to lead this great institution and I would like to thank the UBA Group Chairman and the members of the Board of Directors for the confidence they have placed in me to carry out this mandate."

As a reminder, the new UBA Managing Director has been with the Bank since 1997. He was the Managing Director of UBA Ghana, Africa and Deputy Managing Director of the Group. According to Tony Elumelu, Group Chairman, the new CEO is "well equipped to advance the institution's pan-African and global strategy".
