The Ivorian government is committed to strengthening the competitiveness of the companies Sucaf-CI and Sucrivoire. The signing ceremony of the contract-plans between the State and the sugar companies Sucaf-CI and Sucrivoire was held on May 1, 2021 in Abidjan.

Ivorian Prime Minister Patrick Achi expressed the government's commitment to strengthening the sugar industry. "The government has decided to undertake the strengthening of the sugar industry, through performance contracts, to make the necessary investments to increase the capacity of the companies Sucaf-CI and Sucrivoire, with a view to improving their productivity, their competitiveness and achieving self-sufficiency in sugar, as well as guaranteeing competitive prices for households, as part of the fight against the high cost of living. ", he said.
The contract plans provide for the sugar companies to make investments of more than 151 billion FCFA over the period 2021-2025, including 71.332 billion for Sucaf-CI and 79.731 billion for Sucrivoire. In addition, they undertake to increase their production, up to 206,000 T in 2021 and around 255,000 T in 2025.
