Two journalists from state television (TVGE) were arrested on Saturday and spent the night in police custody at the central police station in Malabo. They are “suspected of having received 800,000 CFA francs (about 1,219 euros) in bribes”. In return, they would have kept “silent regarding the discovery of poor quality products during a control visit by the Ministry of Commerce to a food sales company last week” according to the report by TGVE, the state television.
