Boungoueres was placed under arrest warrant on October 28, 2025. The latter is

Alain Simplice Boungoueres is being sued for
“passive corruption” and “concussion”, following an investigation
revealing suspicious financial transactions and alleged attempts
to obstruct an internal audit at the Presidential Palace. This arrest is part
in the campaign to moralize public life launched by the president
Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguéma, who advocates a policy of “zero tolerance”
in the face of corruption.
