The COP 30 event opened in Belém, at Brazil, on new promises of climate finance, in particular for the countries most exposed to security and environmental crises. On the occasion, Mauritania joined the international climate security platform, a mechanism supposed to better articulate climate, conflict prevention and stability regional.

Mauritania joins the security platform climate, and several European countries increasing their contributions to United Nations climate security mechanism. The goals are clear: improving access, equity, and effectiveness of climate finance in crisis areas, by insisting on the crucial role of platforms national for the implementation of actions.

Managers of the BAD Group and other institutions have emphasized the importance of adapting and intensifying the climate finance for the most vulnerable populations, in particular those living at the intersection of security and climate crises.

It should be noted that the Climate Action Window, financed by several European donor countries, mainly targets countries with low income, fragile and vulnerable. According to Ecofin, this makes 75% of its funding concerns adaptation, 15% mitigation, and 64% of Adaptation funding is in the form of grants, due to fragility of the beneficiaries.
