The delegation of the Swiss Federation Council, led by its president, Andreas Aebi, presented the new cooperation program in Burkina Faso amounting to more than 90 billion FCFA, on Monday April 19, 2021 in Ouagadougou. This program pays particular attention to vulnerable populations.

The implementation of the Swiss cooperation program in Burkina, planned for the period 2021-2025, now increases to approximately 90 billion 650 million CFA francs. It corresponds to an annual budget of 18 billion 350 million CFA francs, an increase of 15% compared to the previous program.
According to the head of the Swiss Cooperation office in Burkina Faso, Jean-Michel Limat, this cooperation program has the specificity of containing programs with a national scope and covering the whole country with a more local focus, allowing greater efficiency. in relation to targeted issues. These are interventions that meet a triple general objective, namely: safeguarding development gains, reducing suffering and responding to humanitarian emergencies and promoting peace.
