A new agreement in sight on a third C2D of 1.145 billion euros to strengthen cooperation between Côte d'Ivoire and France. This issue has been under discussion for several months.

The Ivorian government is due to conclude an agreement with the France in the coming days for a third debt reduction and development (C2D) contract, worth $1.145 billion and covering the period 2021-2025. With this new envelope, Paris and Abidjan are strengthening their cooperation with a focus on transport and education. The case was closed by Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, who dined together on October 12 at the Élysée Palace in Paris. This new C2D must be divided into three parts: one envelope (one third of the amount) must finance the Abidjan metro, another will be reserved for other projects whose details have not yet been communicated, the last will be paid in the form of budget support.
