Abidjan, January 30, 2020 – Côte d'Ivoire and the African Development Bank (AfDB) pledged, on January 30, 2020 in Abidjan, to strengthen their cooperation, through a more efficient portfolio.

This was during a review of the institution's portfolio in the country. In recent years, the portfolio has grown significantly, from 367 billion FCFA to approximately 1424 billion FCFA between 2015 and 2019.

As of January 2020, around 37 operations are financed by the AfDB. We note that the portfolio devotes 45.7% of its resources to transport infrastructure, 23.2% to energy, 20% to agriculture, etc.

The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly. It saw the participation of the Vice-President, Regional Development, Integration and Service Delivery of the AfDB, Khaled Sherif. They both praised the remarkable economic performance achieved by Côte d'Ivoire, with a growth rate of around 8% since 2012.
