The partnership between Niger and Luxembourg was strengthened on the occasion of the 14th Partnership Commission jointly organized between the two countries on Monday 11 July 2022, by video conference. This meeting resulted in the signing of four memoranda of understanding.

Niger and Luxembourg are joining forces to propel programmes on water and sanitation, education, public finance, and employment. According to the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Niger, Hassoumi Massoudou, the “Water and Sanitation Program” has a budget of 26,238,280,000 FCFA. It aims to contribute to the achievement of Target No. 6 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He adds that the “Support to the Education Sectoral Joint Fund” programme will contribute to increasing the acquisition by the population of the knowledge, skills and values necessary for a better life and sustainable development.

The Programme to Support the Employment and Employability Development of Young People and Women, in the Dosso, Niamey and Zinder regions”, with an overall cost of 22. 958,495,000 FCFA, will be used to promote the employability and integration of young people and women in the three selected regions. As regards the Public Finance Management Support Project, it will be implemented with a budget of 3,706,157,050 FCFA.
