As part of the co-financing of the preparation of regional infrastructure projects in public-private partnership (PPP), the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the West African Development Bank (BOAD) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding defining a strategic partnership framework, involving at least one member State of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU).

The Memorandum of Understanding, concluded for a period of five years, will help the two institutions and the WAEMU countries to quickly build a solid pipeline of prepared, bankable and quality regional infrastructure projects, as part of the revival of investments in post-Covid-19 infrastructure in the region, says a press release.

It focuses on the identification, selection and prioritization of possible regional infrastructure projects in PPP, the completion of feasibility studies as well as the structuring and support of the transaction. The two institutions will jointly draw up a list of projects eligible for co-financing for the preparation and will agree on the components of the project to be financed, the supervision and supervision of the studies as well as the modalities of disbursement.
