color:black; mso-color-alt:windowtext; mso-fareast-language:en">The agreement between Afreximbank and NBS Bank Plc is part of its Trade Facilitation Program (AFTRAF), aimed at strengthening the capacity of African banks to finance strategic imports and to stimulate intra-continental trade. This line of credit aims to enable NBS Bank to support its growing portfolio of commercial financing and to respond effectively to the needs of its customers. It will be particularly oriented towards the import of products from basic necessities in Malawi, including fertilizers, medicines and fuel, whose availability is essential for stability socio-economic of the country.
According to Haytham El Maayergi, Executive Vice President of the Afreximbank Global Commercial Bank, “this The facility of 100 million US dollars is one of the largest granted by AFTRAF to a bank in Malawi”.
The signature took place in a context where
IATF2025 has once again demonstrated its strategic role. The edition held at
Algiers, from September 4 to 10, brought together more than 112,000 visitors from 132
countries and allowed the conclusion of 48.3 billion dollars in trade agreements
and investments.
