On September 28, 2022, the National Social Insurance Fund (CNPS), the Caisse des Dépôtes et Consignations de Côte d'Ivoire (CDC-CI), the National Investment Bank (BNI) and the Social Security Institution-General Pension Fund for State Employees (IPS-CGRAE), have received approval from President Ouattara to acquire 67.5% of the capital of the International Bank for Commerce and Industry of Côte d'Ivoire (Bicici) for 80 billion CFA francs (122 122 millions of euros), according to the Ecofin agency. They thus became the majority shareholder of an Ivorian bank. The aim of this transaction is to exit BNP Paribas, which until then held 59.8% of the capital of Bicici and Proparco, the financial arm of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), and a 7.7% shareholder.
