The Senegalese authorities are actively preparing for the next agricultural season. This corresponds to the first year of implementation of the national food sovereignty strategy. As a result, fertilizer prices will fall.

The 2023-2024 agricultural campaign is the first year of implementation of the national food sovereignty strategy, aims to “ensure sustainable food and nutritional security for populations, and to develop better... Silence”. Indeed, “it contributes to nutritional security, food sovereignty and, significantly, to economic growth, job creation, the regulation of macroeconomic balances and poverty reduction” according to the Prime Minister, speaking at an interministerial council devoted to the preparation of the 2023-2024 agricultural season.

The government intends to “improve support in determining which crops to sow, planting and harvesting schedules. And ensure technical support for access to seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and agricultural tools to “guarantee optimal and quality production.”
