The Ivorian government validated, Wednesday, December 3, 2025 in the Council of Ministers, the official recognition of the Organization interprofessional agricultural (OIA) in the coffee-cocoa sector. This decision marks a new stage in the structuring of one of the most important sectors strategic for the national economy.

The interprofession was established on August 19, 2025 at Yamoussoukro at a general meeting bringing together representatives of the entire value chain: producers, exporters, processors and industrialists. It is the culmination of a project that has been under way since February 2024 in order to: modernise the governance of the sector.

According to the Café-Cacao Council, the establishment of this structure aims to improve the management of issues related to production, the quality, traceability and sustainability of coffee and cocoa. She must also allow a better organization of training courses, a stronger capacity to negotiation and strengthened support mechanisms for producers.

With this recognition, the OIA is now becoming an actor central authority for regulation, consultation and coordination in the sector. ” This measure... aims to consolidate the performance of the Coffee-Cocoa sector and to further increase producers' incomes”, underlines the press release of the Council of Ministers.
