The Centre for Studies and Research on Financial and Organised Crime (CERCOFI) contributes its part to the fight against corruption and financial crime, by initiating a study day on the crime of appearance. The first edition was held on Saturday, June 19, 2021, in Ouagadougou.

The study day on the crime of appearance was for CERCOFI a framework of consultations intended to find measures against corruption and financial crime through reflections on all aspects of financial governance. In accordance with article 40 of Law No. 004-2015/CNT on the prevention and repression of corruption, the participation of civil society in this fight has been strongly encouraged. This day, in addition to the debates between participants, was structured on two panels focused on the theme "the crime of appearance: challenges and stakes of repression in Burkina Faso". It was a framework for the actors gathered to discuss several subjects, among others, the difficulties related to the examination of the files, the difficulty of valuation of the property, the state of the files in relation to the crime of appearance, etc.
