The National Assembly adopted by a majority of voters, the 2021 finance law, characterized by revenue of 2,110.974 billion and expenditure of 2,651.774 billion FCFA, i.e. a deficit of 540.800 billion FCFA.

Of the 118 present, 91 voted "for" and 27 abstained. The 2021 State budget management is the Government's privileged instrument for the implementation of its economic and social policy contained in its development framework.

According to the Minister of Economy, Finance and Development, Mr. Lassané Kaboré, the finance law for the execution of the State budget, financial year 2021 has been drawn up, on the basis of the orientations of the budgetary circular, budgetary priorities and strategic choices defined by the Government.

It takes into account the evolution of the national socio-economic context, in particular the fight against the terrorist threat and the management of actions to fight against Covid-19 which requires a revision of our priorities for the benefit of the health departments, defense and security in order to enable them to strengthen their operational capacities.

For the year 2021, the budget provides for revenue of 2110 billion 974 million 391 thousand FCFA and expenditure amounting to 2651 billion 774 million 498 thousand FCFA. As for budgetary savings, it concerns 24 billion 469 million 514 thousand FCFA.

The overall budget balance shows 540 billion 800 million 107 thousand FCFA.

As a reminder, the adopted budget is likely to be modified through an amending law to adjust it according to the needs of the moment.
