The arsenal of the central brigade for the fight against cybercrime (CBLCC) has just been reinforced. The structure received this Tuesday, March 30, 2021 equipment and software intended for the establishment of a digital investigation laboratory.

As part of the launch of the awareness campaign for actors in the fight against cybercrime, the CBLCC was equipped with various materials.
For Wolfram Vetter, Head of Delegation of the European Union, cybercrime has increased with the Covid-19 disease in the sub-region. “Cybercriminals have adapted to changing drivers of illicit trade, exposing vulnerable populations to the danger of exploitation and honing cybercrime techniques as global commerce inexorably shifts to the World Wide Web,” says he.
Sub-regional cooperation is therefore launched with the aim of providing a response to cybersecurity in the West African area by the European Union in partnership with ECOWAS through the establishment of the Organized Crime-West African Response on Cybersecurity and fight against cybercrime (OCWAR-C).
