The Commission of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) is committed to the protection of road infrastructure in the Community area. For example, Burkina Faso was offered a weighing station located 40 km from Ouagadougou.

The construction of this road infrastructure is part of the WAEMU Commission's community policy. The Nagréongo weighing station was financed at a total cost of more than 973 million FCFA. The official handover of the infrastructure to the Burkinabe authorities took place on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, in Nagréongo, in the Central Plateau region.
located 40 km from Ouagadougou, at PK35+ 950, route de Koupéla (RN04), on the community road called Cu2a the burkina Faso station is composed, among other things, of traffic lanes, car parks and unloading areas, buildings and ancillary and technical premises, weighing equipment, a gauge control device, waiting and resting space.

According to the President of the WAEMU Commission, Abdallah Boureïma, this project aims to facilitate the application of the Community Directive, commonly known as Regulation 14, on the harmonization of standards and procedures for the control of the gauge, the weight and axle load of heavy goods vehicles in WAEMU member States.
The commission's ambition is to build eight low-speed weighing stations for the benefit of the eight member countries, at the exit of the main ports of coastal states and on the main corridors of landlocked countries.
