Burkinabè economic activity will experience growth of 5.8% from 2021, 5.6% in 2022 and 6.0% in 2023, announces the press release from a Council of Ministers of June 24, 2020.

“This growth would be linked mainly to the performance of the tertiary sector (6.6%) in 2022 and (+6.3%) in 2023. With regard to the primary sector, it would record a growth in its added value of 3.8 % in 2021. For the years 2022 and 2023, the primary sector would experience growth of 2.6% and 5.0% respectively,” estimates a report on the 2021-2023 Multiannual Budgetary and Economic Programming Document (DPBEP).

According to the same forecasts, the growth of the secondary sector will be 7.0% in 2021, and will be supported mainly by the sub-sectors of the extractive industry. The DPBEF is a macroeconomic, budgetary and financial framework plan that covers the period 2021 and 2023.
