The state budget, 2023 management was voted unanimously on Thursday, December 22, 2022 by Togolese deputies. This budget amounts to 1,957.9 billion CFA francs in revenue and expenditure compared to 1,875.8 billion CFA francs in the 2022 amending finance law (an increase of 4.4%).

Before the deputies, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Sani Yaya, laid out the “innovations” contained in the 2023 budget. According to him, 2023 will be an opportunity for the Government to continue implementing the actions of the Head of State's social mandate and to affirm our country's resolute march towards the structural transformation of our economy, which will result in the acceleration of the implementation of the Togo 2020-2025 governmental roadmap.

Thus, for him, the adopted Finance Act 2023 devotes 48% of investment expenditure to the implementation of Axis 1 relating to strengthening inclusion and developing human capital; 35% to Axis 2 to support productive sectors and 17% to Axis 3 to strengthen State capacities. This budget specifically reserves 623.4 billion CFA francs for the social sectors, or about 49% of the entire budget, compared to 522.2 billion CFA francs in the 2022 budget.
