After the break observed on Thursday on the occasion of the New Year, the Casablanca Stock Exchange resumed trading on a clearly positive note Friday January 2, 2026. Driven by renewed optimism among investors, the flagship MASI index increased by 1.92% to 19,208.36 points, confirming a dynamic start to the year for the Moroccan financial center.

The session was marked by solid performances on multiple values. STOKVIS NORD AFRIQUE stood out at the top of the charts with a surge of 8.62% to 102.10 dirhams. It is followed by RESIDENCES DAR SAADA, whose stock gained 7.42% to 172.95 dirhams, as well as by FENIE BROSSETTE (+6.93% to 408 dirhams). ZELLIDJA S.A (+5.98% to 216.25 Dirhams) and Crédit du Maroc (CDM), up by 5.87% to 1,100 Dirhams, complete the list of the strongest progressions of the session.

On the other hand, some values have evolved locally negative, reflecting profit-taking or portfolio adjustments. ENNAKL recorded the largest drop with a drop of 4.63% to 51.50 Dirhams. BALIMA sold 4% to 240 dirhams, while LESIEUR CRISTAL lost 2.78% to 350 dirhams. M2M Group (-2.13% to 455 Dirhams) and COLORADO (-2.10% at 83.99 Dirhams) were also among the notable downturns in the session.

This first session of the year, marked by an overall upward trend reflects a climate of confidence in the Casablanca market. Investors thus seem to be approaching 2026 with a measured optimism, waiting for new economic indicators and financial performance of listed companies
